Position: Textile Service Assistant II

Location: Christiana Hospital - Newark Campus

Type: Full Time

Schedule: 4:00am - 12:30pm (8 Hr. Shifts)

🧹 What You’ll Do:

Operate laundry equipment and process linens according to safety, sanitation, and infection control standards.
Clean and maintain patient and non-patient areas, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment.
Remove and transport waste and soiled linens following established procedures.
Train and support team members on equipment use, chemical handling, and safety practices.
Assist with daily Housekeeping and Laundry operations, staff oversight, regulatory compliance, and maintenance reporting.
Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and compassionate customer service at all times.

📘 What You Bring:

High School Graduate or equivalent preferred
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
Strong hygiene and confidentiality practices
Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift throughout your shift
Comfort using smartphones/PDA for assignments

⚠️ Additional Info:

Ability to perform frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and other physical tasks.
Work in environments with exposure to soiled linens, cleaning chemicals, laundry equipment, and varying temperatures while following all safety and infection control procedures.

This position has a starting rate of $17.75 per hour, regardless of prior experience. After six months of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $20.74 per hour. After one year of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $21.74 per hour.This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
