Janitorial Custodian

Job Title: Custodian
Department: Facilities / Maintenance
Reports To: Facilities Manager

Job Summary:
The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment within assigned facilities. This role ensures that manufacturing areas, restrooms, and common work areas are cleaned, sanitized, and well-maintained to support daily operations and promote a healthy workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, breakrooms, hallways, and other facility areas as needed 
• Sweep, mop and perform floor care on epoxy coating in manufacturing areas
• Empty trash and recycling bins and dispose of waste properly
• Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper
• Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces as directed
• Follow safety procedures and use cleaning chemicals properly
• Maintain cleaning equipment and report any malfunctions
• Setup and break down rooms for meetings or events as needed
• Ensure compliance with company policies and health regulations

Qualifications:

• Previous custodial or janitorial experience is a plus
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment (buffers, vacuums, etc.)
• Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs
• Ability to perform repetitive cleaning tasks
• Comfortable working in various environments (indoors/outdoors, in manufacturing lab environment and different temperatures)

Work Environment:

• May be required to work evenings, weekends, holidays, or early morning shifts based on business needs. 
• Regular exposure to cleaning chemicals, cleaning equipment, and varying indoor and outdoor environmental conditions. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided as required.
