Exceptional Care for Children is a Not for Profit organization committed to providing the highest quality of care and services to pediatric patients and young adults requiring transitional, long term, and/or palliative care. We are an around-the-clock residential facility that provides skilled care to medically fragile children and young adults who have a technology dependency.

We are currently looking for a PRN Speech Pathologist to join our team. (8-10 hours weekly)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care within scope of practice.

  • Evaluate, screen, and treat children and young adults with known or suspected communication and/or oral motor/swallowing disorders.

  • Develop an individual therapy plan for each assigned patient which includes appropriate goals for treatment. Update goals and record patient progress according to departmental procedures.

  • Consult and collaborate with other medical professionals within the care team.

  • Provides education and training to families and staff as needed.

  • Maintain precise, timely clinical documentation.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.

  • Licensure: Current Delaware SLP License and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).

  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of pediatric experience (preferred).

    • Direct experience with tracheostomy and ventilator - dependent population is highly preferred.
    • Strong background in pediatric dysphagia and/or AAC.
