Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create and prepare desserts in accordance with the existent menus
  • Decorate cakes and baked goods according to requirements
  • Plate desserts for serving
  • Creates baked goods for specific diets (gluten free, sugar free, diabetes-friendly, etc.)
  • Inspect the quality of the ingredients
  • Maintains work station and equipment for proper functioning
  • Work with all team members to ensure consistent product
  • Maintain sanitation and cleanliness
  • Keep wait staff informed of menu changes and plate description

  • Classic pastry techniques and recipes
  • JORY dessert menu items and ingredients
  • Garden products and seasonal availability
  • Cooking philosophy of JORY restaurant
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends, evenings and holidays
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all team members
  • An enthusiastic, positive demeanor and desire to provide exceptional guest service
  • State of Oregon Food Handler’s Card
  • Pass pre-employment background check


Working conditions/Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift heavy boxes of produce, dry goods etc.
  • Regularly lift up to 50 lbs. safely
  • Extended standing walking, bending and kneeling
  • Use of hands and arms to feel, handle reach and touch
  • May be subject to high levels of noise
  • Will be in proximity to fire and knives
