This position is a great entry level position to learn the inner workings of a high-end kitchen while developing excellent organizational skills, a great sense of urgency and the ability to work cleanly and efficiently.

Not for the faint of heart, this position requires plenty of hard work, but also provides excellent growth opportunities within the company and a place of work to take pride in.

Duties and Responsibilities

We are a professional kitchen looking for someone who can stay upbeat and pleasant even through our rushes.
Ensure kitchen work areas, equipment, and tools are clean and in orderly condition.
Properly sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas, and clean garbage cans. Efficiently sweep, mop and scrub floors.
Understand instructions, procedures and techniques.
Efficiently wash and maintain clean dishes, glassware, flatware, trays, pots and pans.

Jobs Skills/Requirements/Qualifications

The ability and desire to learn
Enjoy and be able to succeed in a fast-paced work environment
Ability to effectively communicate with all team members.
Valid Oregon Food Handler Card required to work first shift.

Working conditions/ Physical requirements

Physically strenuous job that requires standing on feet for 8 or more hour.
Move quickly around the kitchen.
Able to lift heavy boxes of produce, dry goods etc.
Regularly lift up to 50 plus pounds safely.
Interface with customers at our open kitchen bar and chef’s table.
Maintain sanitation and cleanliness according to Jory’s exacting standards.
Must be able and willing to work all shifts including holidays, evenings, and weekends.
Multitasking is a must.
Extended standing, walking, bending stooping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stretching, twisting, reaching, and kneeling for prolonged periods of time.
Use of hands and arms to feel, handle, reach, and touch.
May be subject to high levels of noise.
Will be in proximity to fire and knives.
Must be safety conscious.
