Maintenance Technician 1 - 1395

Job Summary

By applying electrical theory and related knowledge, assists engineers in the design, evaluation and repair of electrical equipment.

Job Duties

  • Provide basic technical assistance and resolution when electrical or engineering problems are encountered before, during and after construction
  • Assemble electrical and electronic systems and prototypes according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles, using hand tools and measuring instruments
  • Collaborate with engineers and other personnel to identify, define and solve developmental problems
  • Analyze and interpret test information to resolve design-related problems
  • Draw or modify diagrams and write engineering specifications to clarify design details and functional criteria of experimental electronics units
  • Install, repair, modify and upgrade industrial control systems; control systems may be relay controlled, microprocess based on PLC logic (i.e., PLC programming and troubleshooting)
  • Conduct inspections for quality control and assurance programs, reporting findings and recommendations
  • Prepare project cost and work-time estimates when needed
  • Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately
  • Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
  • Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Experience and Education

  • Perform work under direct supervision
  • Handle basic issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff
  • Possess beginning to working knowledge of subject matter
  • Typically require accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program and 0 to 2 years of experience
