Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Processes and promptly updates all diet orders/changes and messages received from order entry computer system, currently Meditech in Room Service computer. Utilizes preference cards and/or special modifications, allergies, intolerances, etc. Processes Room Service calls efficiently to minimize waiting time for other incoming calls. Calls patients as outlined on job flow in order for the department to run smoothly. Travels between diet office and kitchen quickly to minimize the amount of time the phone is on busy out. Assists patients in selecting well-balanced meals considering both the diet order and patient’s preferences. Consistently redirects/educates when assisting patients with meal selections as necessary. Demonstrates knowledge of therapeutic diets, age-specific nutritional needs, and modifications necessary for the assigned population (e.g.., cut-up food). Interprets tube-feeding orders accurately and follows-up daily for updated rates. Scheduled Hours: 37.5 hr/wk, rotating weekend/holidays Work Shift: Day - 10:15a - 6:15p
