SUMMARY: The Shipping & Receiving Specialist is responsible for preparing, packaging, and processing outgoing shipments to ensure accurate, timely delivery of finished goods. This role supports daily shipping and receiving operations by coordinating documentation, verifying orders, and maintaining inventory accuracy while complying with company policies, customer requirements, and safety standards.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Manage all receiving activities for in-bound materials. 
  • Prepare and process outgoing shipments, including picking, packing, labeling, and staging products for shipment.
  • Verify shipment accuracy by matching items, quantities, and documentation against sales orders and packing lists.
  • Generate shipping documents such as bills of lading, packing slips, Certificates of conformity and carrier labels.
  • Coordinate with carriers and internal departments to ensure on-time shipment and delivery.
  • Enter and maintain accurate shipping transactions in ERP/WMS systems.
  • Assist with inventory control activities including cycle counts and discrepancy resolution.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping area in accordance with safety and 6S standards.
  • Follow company policies, quality requirements, and shipping procedures.
  • Support audits and compliance activities as required.
  • Scan batch records after job closure for record keeping requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic knowledge of shipping methods, freight terms, and packaging requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and work instructions.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3 years of shipping, receiving, warehouse, and/or logistics experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Experience with ERP/WMS systems preferred but not required.
