Summary:
Provide in-person speech/language therapy services to identified or referred special education students. Services include evaluations, screenings, direct therapy, IEP support, staff training, recordkeeping, and required documentation. Work must comply with BIE, IDEA, State of New Mexico, and school requirements.
Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and screen students for speech/language services or re-evaluations.
  • Prepare comprehensive evaluation reports.
  • Provide direct therapy in individual or small-group settings.
  • Attend and support IEP meetings; explain test results and therapy recommendations.
  • Develop student service schedules with the special education teacher and principal.
  • Provide staff support for diagnostic summaries, assistive technology, and augmentative communication.
  • Maintain clinical notes, service logs, student files, attendance sheets, and other required documentation.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Current New Mexico Speech/Language Pathologist license or certification.
