LOCATION: NEWINGTON, CT (fully in person role)

WORK SCHEDULE: 2ND SHIFT, Monday - Friday; 4 pm - 12 am

SUMMARY

Overall responsibility of planning and coordinating the digital printing function. Responsible for scheduling and supervising the printing staff.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Oversee the laser/digital print employees. Ensure all quality control procedures are followed. Ensure proper staffing throughout the shift. Communicate staffing needs as they occur.
  1. Supervise employees through the delegation of work responsibilities, the instruction of appropriate methods and procedures, and the monitoring and revision of processing activities as required to meeting work schedules. Responsible for stimulating maximum productivity and efficiency from employees.
  1. Interview and hire employees and conduct periodic performance reviews. Explain and enforce company policies. Refer employee relations’ problems to the human resources department.
  1. Work closely with clients, as needed, ensuring the jobs meet their expectations.
  1. Consult with department managers regarding printing recommendations.
  1. Manage expenses to meet budgetary goals.
  1. Oversee the preventative maintenance of all printing equipment.
  1. Order supplies and maintain control of inventory.
  1. Work with quality control staff to update policies and procedures, as necessary.
  1. Keep current regarding technological changes in the industry.
  1. Advise on capital improvements for the print room area.
  1. Comply with company rules and regulations.
  1. Maintain confidentiality of company-sensitive data.
  1. Implement a commitment to quality philosophy and recommend methods and procedures to reduce cost and/or improve operating efficiency of the department.
  1. Keep manager informed of activities and situations that will impact the achievement of corporate or department goals and objectives.
  1. Perform other related duties as required to achieve the goals and objectives of the department and company


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE


  • Four-year college degree or 5-7 years of printing experience in a direct mail or related industry, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years in a supervisory position
