WIN Waste Innovations is looking for an experienced Network Engineer to execute, manage, and strategize complex projects that support and maintain our company’s enterprise network and telephony services across our organization. As a Network Engineer, you will address advanced support issues and design technology solutions that support our operations. You will work both independently and collaboratively with a team to resolve connectivity incidents and ensure the security of the overall network infrastructure.

 

Your key responsibilities will include managing network operations, overseeing small to medium-sized projects, providing regular updates and communications, managing tasks, supporting vendors, and resolving issues related to network connectivity, telephony, video, and other services.

 

To succeed as a Network Engineer, you should have experience with both on-premises and cloud-based enterprise networks, strong project management skills, and the ability to multitask. You should be capable of working independently as well as collaboratively as part of a cohesive team. A top-tier Network Engineer ensures that the networking team operates efficiently, maintaining the stability and performance of the network. Additionally, you will be expected to support our VoIP telephony systems and cloud services, and you may be assigned other duties during regular and off-business hours.

                                                                                                                                 

Responsibilities

  • Support on-premises and cloud-based network services.
  • Manage Internet Service Providers and telephony services.
  • Collaborate with vendors and staff to design and implement functional company networks.
  • Install and configure networking hardware.
  • Create and implement network security measures, including IDS/IPS, conducting regular vulnerability scans, enabling URL filtering, and conducting port-level checks for approved hardware.
  • Conduct regular network performance tests.
  • Manage networking maintenance tasks.
  • Address escalated network support issues.
  • Support telephony services in a cloud-based call center, including forwarding and porting phone numbers.
  • Prepare network status reports and network site topology diagrams.
  • Provide regular reports to IT management.
  • Assist with service interruptions after hours and participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Support travel up to 25% and maintain reliable transportation.
  • Support M&A integration efforts.
  • Collect and report on regular KPIs, including metrics related to network and system availability.
  • This role is not hybrid or fully remote, but we do offer flexibility for remote work.

 

Skills, Qualifications, & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Previous work experience as a network engineer.
  • Advanced knowledge of industry network systems, including Cisco, Fortinet, Azure networking, Avaya IP Office, IP cameras & NVRs, and 3CX.
  • Familiarity with networking hardware, including wireless point-to-point systems, controllers, wiring, and services that support networking.
  • Understanding of communication and routing protocols. VLAN, RADIUS, etc.
  • Experience with network monitoring and analysis tools, such as SolarWinds and Wireshark.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages, including Bash, Batch, and PowerShell.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.
