DEPARTMENT: Extrusion 2nd shifts 

JOB TITLE: Systems Operator B  

REPORT TO: Shift Supervisor with directions from a Team Leader 

SHIFT NIGHTS/HOURS: 

2nd Shift position: (1:00 p.m.- 9:00 pm.) Monday - Friday over a course of 5 days (40+ hours) per week. Some overtime may be required throughout the week and some Saturday Evenings.

STARTING PAY: $22.40 ($1.00 shift premium) with the ability to earn more. 

We are currently seeking a Systems Operator B to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computer systems. As a Systems Operator B, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our company's manufacturing. 

Systems Operators B will be responsible for setting the press up, selecting dies, performing maintenance, and troubleshooting problems. 

  What You Will Be Responsible For: 

  • Responsible for the safe and efficient running of the extrusion press 
  • Promptly communicates to supervisor any issues concerning health, safety, quality, and efficiencies 
  • Responsible for the in-process inspection/verification of parts during extrusion 
  • Monitor and maintain good physical condition of extrusion press and handling equipment 
  • Meet the quality standards required by customer specifications 
  • Responsible for inspecting parts after the stretching operation 
  • Follow company procedures and policies 
  • Responsible to ensure right alloys are running for correct process 
  • Read and understand shop orders 
  • Read and understand calipers, micrometers, and tape measures 
  • Read and understand prints 
  • Run the press and meet all press requirements 
  • Must be able to read a go- and no-go gauge to check material after it has been aged 
  • Must fill out check sheets for any moving equipment before it is used
  • Operate an electric cart and overhead crane 
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor or team leader 

Work Environment/ Physical Demands:  

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear 
  • The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25- 75 pounds 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus 
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts  
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and is not a climatized building 

 What You Will Need: 

  • HS Diploma/GED preferred 
  • Must be able to pass a skills-based test 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work efficiently and effectively: self-motivated: self-starter 
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals 
  • A minimum of three (3) months' related experience and/or training, preferred, but willing to train the right individuals 
  • Must be able to pass company background check and drug screen.
