Directs the care of the patient through the nursing process and through collaboration with the patient, their family and other health care professionals. Provides leadership to non-licensed staff by setting an example of excellence.

The successful candidate:

  • Must be able to work PRN/As Needed, 7a-7:30p.

  • Plan, deliver, direct, coordinate, and evaluate therapeutic interventions based on needs identified in the assessment process.

  • Document interventions provided.

  • Supervise care delivery by unlicensed support staff.

  • Provide education regarding disease processes, side effects of treatment, and health promotion.

  • Offer support and reassurance to ensure informed decisions are made regarding the individual’s therapeutic plan.

  • Document according to department standards.

  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and accrediting agencies.

  • Participate in the development, review, and updating of policies and procedures.

  • Actively participate in the Performance Improvement plan of the unit.

  • Obtain allergy information and handle medication reconciliation with the patient or family member.

  • Communicate this information to other providers.

  • Verify and note physician orders.

  • Provide safe delivery of prescribed medications and treatments, and evaluate outcomes in a timely manner.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

  • Current Georgia State Registered Nurse License required

  • BSN required or enrolled within 6 months of hire and BSN completed within three years from hire date.

  • Current BLS required (Obtain AHA certificate within 30 days of hire)

  • Current ACLS required (Obtain AHA certificate within 30 days of hire)

  • Oncology experience preferred

  • Recent ICU and/or OR experience preferred

  • Experience in caring for patients with invasive pressure lines desirable

  • Experience in caring for patients who are on mechanical ventilation desirable
