Overview
Works under the supervision of the Director of Environmental Services. For the employees under the direction of this Supervisor, he/she schedules their work, evaluates, their performance and resolves employee complaints. Additionally, this Supervisor is responsible for the quality of work, the productivity of the department, increasing department moral, the working relationship with the medical staff, and employee adherence to facility and departmental policies, procedures and guidelines. Fills in and performs duties as needed for other team members in the department.
What you will do
- Conducts inspections daily ensuring quality/infection control measures are met consistently with appropriate documentation forwarded to department Director.
- Coordinates staffing to maximize efficient, cost-effective productivity.
- Demonstrates responsiveness by role modeling customer service behaviors. Ensures team understands and responds to suggestions and concerns from residents/visitors, personnel, medical staff and leadership.
- Collaborates with the medical staff to provide for the needs of our residents and customers.
- Demonstrates positive customer service behaviors consistently Strives to meet/exceed the needs of the facility's customers/residents by demonstrating flexibility and sense of urgency to create a service excellence experience.
- Supervises staff so that policies and procedures are observed to ensure the safety of participants. Educates and supervises using guidelines for proper body mechanics, hazardous materials handling and standard precautions to avoid personal accidents and injuries. Maintains a safe work area.
- Works with employees assigned, to ensure that all employees demonstrate an acceptable level of competence which will result in a high level of quality work performance.
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED, (Required)
Experience
- 1 year Supervisory experience in Housekeeping (Preferred)
- 1 year Housekeeping experience (Required)
Licenses and Certifications
- Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) - AHA (Preferred)
