Located in Newport News, VA, we are a 450-bed level II trauma facility with a level III NICU and multiple ICUs. As a respiratory therapist at RRMC, you’ll receive 8-12 weeks of comprehensive orientation, training in our respiratory-driven protocols. Post-training, you’ll work alongside a dedicated team to provide exceptional care to our patients.

We understand the importance of work/life balance, offering open self-scheduling and every third weekend rotation. Plus, we’re currently offering a $20,000 signing bonus for a two-year contract, paid in increments. Relocation allowances are available for qualifying candidates.

What you will do

• Responsible for assessing, diagnosing, implementing, and evaluating the treatment and procedures that contribute to the Respiratory Care Plan.

• Completes all documentation and assures all orders are current, completed or discontinued.

• Participates and assists in meetings, projects and in-services relative to improvement of RHS Respiratory Care Services.

• Utilizes proper infection control techniques in performance of duties and in accordance with departmental procedures.

• Works with physicians and nurses to create treatment plans. Evaluates progress of the treatment.

Qualifications

Education

• Associates Degree, Respiratory Therapy or Related Field (Required) or

• Bachelors Degree, Respiratory Therapy or Related Field (Preferred)

Experience

• 1 year Respiratory Therapist experience (Preferred)

Licenses and Certifications

• Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) - The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) RCP License with the Virginia Department of Health Professions  Upon Hire(Required) and

• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) - The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Upon Hire(Required) and

• CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC)   Upon Hire(Required) and

• ACLS Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) within 1 Year(Required)
