Riverside Health System is seeking a full-time dedicated and skilled Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Cardiac Electrophysiology team in a dynamic role that blends both inpatient and outpatient care. Located in Newport News Virginia.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work alongside a collaborative team of cardiovascular specialists, providing comprehensive care to patients with arrhythmias and other cardiac conditions.

Position Highlights

  • Dual Setting: Balance of hospital-based care and outpatient clinic responsibilities.

  • Clinical Duties:

  • Evaluate new referrals and manage follow-up visits in the outpatient setting. Perform inpatient consultations and daily rounding.

  • Support coordination and discharge planning for electrophysiology procedures.

  • Focus Areas: Arrhythmia management, cardiovascular risk education, and patient-centered care.

Inpatient Responsibilities

  • Provide inpatient EP consultations and daily follow-up care
  • Evaluate and manage patients with atrial fibrillation, SVT, ventricular arrhythmias, syncope, and other rhythm disorders
  • Collaborate closely with EP physicians on care planning and clinical decision-making
  • Assist with care coordination, discharge planning, and patient education
  • Review telemetry, ECGs, labs, and diagnostic studies relevant to EP care

Outpatient Responsibilities

  • See new and established EP patients in the clinic setting
  • Conduct post-procedure and longitudinal follow-up visits
  • Manage antiarrhythmic and anticoagulation therapies under physician guidance
  • Provide patient education on arrhythmia management, procedures, and lifestyle modifications
  • Coordinate care with referring providers and other cardiology subspecialties
  • Assist with device-related patient care, follow-up, and coordination with device clinics
  • Participate in quality initiatives, workflow improvement, and program growth
  • Accurately document all clinical encounters in Epic in accordance with regulatory and billing requirements

Qualifications

  • Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with current licensure in Virginia (or ability to obtain)
  • Prior cardiology experience required; EP experience strongly preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Excellent communication skills with patients, physicians, and staff

Additional Requirements:

  • Eligibility for Virginia medical licensure
  • Valid DEA registration
  • Commitment to professional standards and continuous learning
