Description

Leidos has an opening for an Electrical Engineer to support the Naval Array Technical Support Center (NATSC) located at Navy Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC), Newport, Rhode Island.  NATSC is the depot-level repair activity for US Navy surface ship and submarine towed sonar arrays.  It is a Government Owned-Contractor Operated (GOCO) facility.  The successful candidate will be one of the electrical engineers for the NATSC towed array depot.

Primary Responsibilities

The electrical engineer will:

Conduct engineering investigations, as assigned, to resolve issues using industry best practices, including calculations as appropriate. Provide reports of investigation findings, including investigation and test methodologies used, tests accomplished, ideas considered and recommendation(s) made. If recommendations include building something, include a diagram and list of materials. Conduct/assist with investigations related to material and equipment obsolescence issues and determine suitable replacements. Troubleshoot, test and repair electrical and electronic components and equipment including relays, power supplies. Develop scripts and programs for different types of programmable controllers.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college. 

Four (4) years of directly related experience may offset the degree requirements. 

Able to obtain/maintain DOD security clearance at the Secret level. 

Able to generate reports and presentations using Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of current surface and submarine towed sonar arrays/modules and their testing and repair procedures. 

Experience with the layout and operation of NATSC capital equipment used for towed array module repair and testing. 

Active DOD secret clearance.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $57,850.00 - $104,575.00
