Claw and Hammer Fine Dining Restaurant in Newport, Rhode Island is seeking a skilled and motivated Line Cook to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality, refined dishes with consistency and precision. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and passionate about fine dining cuisine, with a strong understanding of kitchen operations and food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and execute menu items according to established recipes, plating standards, and chef instructions
  • Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation of all dishes during service
  • Set up and stock assigned station with necessary supplies and ingredients
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-standard kitchen environment
  • Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures at all times
  • Communicate effectively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service
  • Assist with prep work, daily specials, and seasonal menu items as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstation before, during, and after service
  • Properly store food and follow FIFO (First In, First Out) practices
  • Support team members to maintain overall kitchen efficiency

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous line cook experience; fine dining experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, knife skills, and kitchen equipment
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions precisely
  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift kitchen equipment or supplies as needed
  • Culinary degree or formal training a plus, but not required
