La Forge Casino Restaurant is seeking a skilled and motivated Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, thrives in a fast-paced kitchen, and takes pride in preparing high-quality dishes with consistency and care. This role is essential to delivering the elevated yet welcoming dining experience La Forge is known for in Newport.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to La Forge recipes, standards, and presentation guidelines
  • Set up and stock assigned stations with necessary supplies and ingredients
  • Ensure food quality, taste, and consistency during service
  • Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and hygiene practices at all times
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation
  • Communicate effectively with chefs and kitchen team members to ensure smooth service
  • Assist with food prep, plating, and special menu items as needed
  • Properly store food, label items, and minimize waste
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations

Experience Required

  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience working as a line cook or in a professional kitchen environment
  • Experience preparing dishes during high-volume service preferred
  • Familiarity with sauté & grill station required
  • Prior experience in a casual-upscale or fine dining restaurant environment preferred but not required

Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, knife skills, and kitchen equipment
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required
