Job Summary:

The Onsite Mesh Welder Assistant will support welding operations. Responsibilities include machine setup, operation, maintenance, quality checks, and paperwork. Must maintain cleanliness, follow safety protocols, and assist with various tasks to ensure smooth plant operations. This team member would train on 1st shift for two weeks (5:00 am-3:30 pm). This is a 2nd shift position 3:30 pm - 2:00 am Mon-Fri. 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure machine is set up properly prior to start up. 
  2. Set up, operate, or tend welding machines that join or bond components to fabricate metal products or assemblies. 
  3. Correct problems by adjusting controls or by stopping machines and opening holding devices. 
  4. Clean, lubricate, maintain, and adjust equipment to maintain efficient operation, using air hoses, cleaning fluids, and hand tools. 
  5. Remove completed workpieces or parts from machinery, using hand tools. 
  6. Verify every other sheet of mesh is flipped for proper packaging. 
  7. Verify count of bundles is accurate. 
  8. Verify correct quantities in each cart. 
  9. Other duties as required to keep plant organized such as moving empty wire carriers, scrap/rework and various other responsibilities. 
  10. Some paperwork such as downtime report, machine start-up report. 
  11. Record operational information on specified production reports. 
  12. Cleanliness of area and 5S practices of work area. 
  13. Ability to read and understand work instructions and SOPs. 
  14. Other duties as required.

Position Supervised or Directed:

Supervised. 

Qualifications, Experience requirements:

  • Experience in Welding: 1 year (Required)
  • Experience in Wire Draw: 1 year (Required)

General Requirements:

  • Detailed and hands-on oriented.

Working Conditions:

  • Physical ability, which may include standing, lifting, carrying, reaching, and working in areas that are not climate controlled for long periods.
  • Frequently indoors. 
  • Manufacturing environment.
