Maintenance Mechanic 

Cooke Aquaculture is seeking a skilled Welder / Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in Eastport, Maine. This role is responsible for performing welding, fabrication, equipment repair, and preventive maintenance to ensure the safe and efficient operation of company vessels and equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience troubleshooting & repairing mechanical equipment, and performing high-quality welding repairs .

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding repairs and fabrication work.
  • Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment and machinery.
  • Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
  • Install, modify, and repair equipment components and systems.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and comply with all safety procedures.
  • Document maintenance activities and completed repairs.

Qualifications

  • Experience in welding and marine maintenance.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Proficiency with fabrication tools and shop equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant trade certification or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Ability to effectively communicate

Preferred Skills

  • Heavy equipment or marine equipment repair experience.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and motor controls.
  • Forklift experience.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments.
