Since 1943, Bermuda Institute (BI) has been owned and operated by the Bermuda Conference of Seventh-day Adventist.  It is supported by eleven constituent churches, a committed school board, and a passionate Conference faithfully committed to Adventist Christian Education and eager to be a change agent in Bermuda.


BI offers grades Pre-K-12, a co-educational program that is aligned with the American system of education.  It’s commitment to excellence is confirmed by its accreditations by AAA (Adventist Accrediting Association), NCPSA (National Council of Private School Accreditation), and MSA (Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools).


BI is seeking High School Learning Support Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.   

Applicant requirements:

  • A minimum of a master’s degree in special education or equivalent with a concentration in inclusion or collaborative consultation or another relevant concentration.
  • Must have at least three (3) years’ experience at the high school level working with students who have exceptionalities i.e. learning, emotional, social, behavioural etc.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in using best practice instructional and assessment strategies including assistive technology to support identified students with mastering instruction appropriate to year level and individual capacity.
  • Skilled in monitoring, reviewing and modifying interventions, strategies and accommodations to student individualized learning plans as well as provide training and assistance to teachers on differentiation within the classroom.


Applicants must:

  • Be a practicing Seventh-day Adventist in regular standing who loves children and models Christianity by upholding the faith and values of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
  • Be a skilled teacher who possesses great classroom management and able to use current and emerging technologies in learning and communicating with students.
  • Demonstrate drive and energy together with the ability to work in an ever-changing environment
  • Be willing to perform homeroom, lunch and extra curricula activities and any other duties assigned by the principal as well as play an active role in BI's faculty worships and meetings
  • Possess strong interpersonal, organisational and communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Be able to foster faith development in students at Bermuda Institute

  • A copy of a daily lesson plan
  • A copy of an IEP
  • A copy of current Bermuda Educator's Council License
  • A copy of a current denominational certification
  • A current SCARS Certificate
  • A certified police background check from each jurisdiction/country lived in the past 10 years
  • Three references with email addresses, including one from your current supervisor and current pastor


Applicants must also be willing to comply with Bermuda Institute’s workplace COVID Testing policy as a condition of employment and be subjected to a Child Abuse Clearance verification from the Department of Child and Family Services.   


Pay rate is based on the denominational wage scale and policy determinations for educators operating at BI.
