Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance Department. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining electrical and automated production equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with industrial controls, robotics, PLCs, HMIs, Resistance and MIG welding equipment, and electrical distribution systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical control systems on manufacturing equipment.
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial robots and automated systems.
- Diagnose and repair resistance welders and associated control systems.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical motors, industrial drives, and motor control systems.
- Program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, MCCs, and related automation equipment.
- Install and maintain electrical controls, instrumentation, sensors, and automation devices.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and voltage and control circuit drawings.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime.
- Support equipment upgrades, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout requirements.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders on Company CMMS.
- Work closely with Production and Engineering teams to resolve equipment issues.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical degree, apprenticeship, or certification in Electrical Maintenance, Industrial Electronics, or a related field preferred.
Experience
- Five or more years of industrial electrical maintenance experience preferred.
- Experience with robotics, PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, motor controls, and industrial automation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical and control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
- Working knowledge of industrial power distribution and motor control systems.
- Familiarity with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, FANUC, Yaskawa Motoman, or similar systems is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting.
- Ability to work around moving machinery, electrical equipment, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes, and other protective equipment as required.
