Job DetailsJob Location: Lasell Village - Auburndale, MA 02466Salary Range: $22.00 - $22.00 HourlyJob Shift: DayWork Hours: 1:30PM - 10:00PM Schedule: Every other Saturday and Sunday, with every other Monday and Thursday off as part of the rotation schedule. POSITION SUMMARY: the primary purpose of your job position is to perform the day-to-day activities of the Housekeeping Department in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing Lasell Village, and as directed by the Director of Housekeeping, to assure that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner. Quality customer service is a top priority for everyone at the Village. RESPONSIBILITIES: Administrative · Ensure that work/cleaning schedules are followed closely as practical · Report all accidents/incidents to your supervisor no matter how minor they may be. (NOTE: such occurrences must be reported on the shift in which they occur) · Attend in-service training and staff meetings as directed or called · File complaints/grievances with your supervisor. Housekeeping Services · Perform day to day housekeeping functions as assigned · Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments. · Perform proper techniques of floor care and preparation of areas to be cleaned, buffed, stripped or waxed as well as carpet cleaning. · Prepare room set ups with tables and chairs as directed · Remove and transport all trash from trash rooms to dumpster Safety and Sanitation · Follow established fire safety policies and procedures · Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies. · Follow sanitation policies as directed by supervisor Equipment and Supply Functions · Ensure that housekeeping cart is adequately stocked with supplies to perform daily tasks · Keep supervisor informed of supply needs · Must be able to operate and maintain all floor cleaning/finishing equipment to include but not limited to floor buffer/burnishers, carpet extractor, and carpet cleaning equipment. · Report burned out light bulbs, exit lights, overhead lights, fluorescent lights, room call lights, etc., to your supervisor as soon as practical. · Assist others in lifting heavy equipment, supplies, etc., as directed or requested · Clean work/supply carts, equipment, etc., as necessary or directed · Ensure that equipment is cleaned and properly stored at the end of the shift. Resident Rights · Maintain the confidentiality of resident information · Knock before entering a resident’s room · Honor the residents’ personal and property rights · Inform resident when it is necessary to move his/her personal possessions during cleaning procedures. Miscellaneous · Turn in all found articles to your supervisor · Work in all areas of the facility · Work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary, as well as in other positions as needed · Is subject to call-back during emergency conditions (e.g. severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.) · May be required to work on shifts other than the one for which hired. JOB SKILLS: · Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language · Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action · Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/staff, and the general public · Thrive in a team environment and work well with others · Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle challenging residents/associates. ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: · Ability to walk the campus daily and work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions · Regular climbing and descending of stairs · Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. · Exposure to cleaning chemicals, infectious materials, and airborne contaminants · Exposure to pet hair/dander in a pet-friendly environment Qualifications
