Sonic Summary

info
  • Magnendo is seeking a Senior Robotics Simulation Engineer to enhance their robotic technology for stroke treatment, with a focus on 3D simulation infrastructure.
  • The position requires a minimum of 6 years of experience in building simulation tooling for robotics or complex systems, alongside strong skills in ROS / ROS2.
  • Responsibilities include designing simulation environments, integrating tools into testing workflows, and collaborating with engineers to ensure simulation accuracy.
  • Candidates should possess strong software engineering abilities in Python or C++, and ideally have experience in regulated environments such as medical devices.
  • Salary details are not specified in the job listing, but the role offers an opportunity to contribute to life-saving technology in a fast-paced startup environment.

Every minute matters in stroke treatment. Magnendo is developing robotic technology to make life-saving endovascular procedures faster, safer, and more accessible. By combining advanced robotics, magnetic navigation, and intelligent software, we are tackling one of the most technically demanding challenges in healthcare while aiming to expand access to advanced stroke care for patients around the world. Join us in shaping the future of endovascular intervention.

We're looking for a Senior Robotics Simulation Engineer to design and build the 3D simulation infrastructure that powers our system analysis, algorithm development, and testing.

You Will:

  • Design and develop 3D robotic simulation infrastructure to support system analysis, algorithm development, and system/software testing

  • Build and maintain simulation environments and tooling in ROS / ROS2 to model robot cart, sensor, and system behavior

  • Support early-stage analyses to identify optimal placement of the robot cart and sensors within the clinical environment

  • Develop simulation models of robot kinematics, dynamics, sensing, and environment interactions to support algorithm development and validation

  • Partner with systems, robotics, and software engineers to define simulation requirements and ensure simulation fidelity matches real-world system behavior

  • Integrate simulation tooling into test and validation workflows to support system and software testing

  • Analyze simulation results to inform design decisions, and iterate on simulation fidelity as the system matures

  • Contribute to a rigorous engineering process that blends modern simulation and software practices with a regulatory V-model framework as applicable (e.g., ISO 13485, ISO 14971)

You Are:

  • 6+ years of experience building simulation tooling and environments for robotics, autonomous systems, or complex electromechanical systems

  • Strong experience with ROS / ROS2 and building simulation environments (e.g., Gazebo, Isaac Sim, or similar)

  • Comfortable with 3D robotics simulation concepts: kinematics, dynamics, sensor modeling, and environment/world modeling

  • Strong software engineering skills (e.g., Python, C++) to build and maintain simulation infrastructure and tooling

  • Experienced partnering with algorithm, systems, and test engineers to translate analysis needs into simulation capabilities

  • Strong root-cause analysis and debugging skills across simulation, algorithms, and system integration

  • Able to operate with the judgment and independence of an early startup hire — comfortable defining process where none exists yet, while holding the line on rigor where it matters most

  • An adept, fast learner who is comfortable in a fast-paced environment

Bonus Points:

  • Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., medical device, aerospace, automotive)

  • Experience with sensor placement/coverage analysis or system layout optimization

  • Experience in the medical device industry, ideally with interventional or robotic systems
