Job DetailsLevel: EntryJob Location: American Fuji Seal NC - Newton, NC 28658Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $22.00 - $24.00 HourlyBasic Responsibilities: Safe and efficient operation of production machinery including Seamers, Slitters, Rewinders, and Core Cutters. Specific Responsibilities: 1. Prepares production supplies including boxes and cores. 2. Conducts daily inspection and preventative maintenance of machinery. 3. Conducts general set up of production machinery. 4. Installs plates, rollers, guides, blades, and related equipment on machinery. 5. Reads job specification sheet to determine job requirements. 6. Enters tolerances and parameters into machine computer. 7. Loads, centers, and webs product into proper machine. 8. Maintains proper speeds and settings of machinery throughout shift. 9. Routinely checks product samples against job specifications. 10. Conducts Quality procedures including inspection of finished goods for quality defects. 11. Completes required paperwork for each job. 12. Packs finished product for shipment to customer. 13. Cleans up machine and work area. 14. Meets production and quality goals. 15. Assists in training of new employees. 16. Assists with other tasks as needed. 17. Complies with all Plant Rules. 18. All other appropriate duties as assigned by the management team and permitted by the existing union contract language. Reports to: Conversion Department Supervisor QualificationsCompetencies: Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to learn and understand machine operations and the use of the proper tools for the job Attention to Detail: Ability to focus while maintaining important details Critical Thinking: The ability to quickly identify a problem and find a solution Computer Competence: Knowledge of basic computer skills Self-Reliance: Must be able to work independently Innovation:  Must demonstrate an open and growth mindset, embracing change, stepping out of comfort zone, and applies creativity in generating ideas and solutions Flexibility: Willingness to cross-train on different jobs and machines in conversion and other departments Safety: Compliance with all safety regulations Cleanliness: Comply with 6s by maintaining a clean and organized work area Dependability: Regular reliable attendance and demonstrates strong work ethic Education and Experience: High School Diploma/GED 1-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required Basic math and measurement skills Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods Able to move and lift to 50 lbs. Able to reach and bend
