Oversee Chemistry labs, supervise, train, and schedule pt technicians, work with Dean to determine budgetThe Chemistry Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for managing and supporting all functions of a two-year college chemistry laboratory. This role oversees preparation, delivery, and disposal of chemicals; supervision of chemical safety; coordination with Faculty to provide the proper materials for the laboratory exercises; and supervision and training of laboratory assistants. The Chemistry Laboratory Supervisor also maintains a current inventory and participates in purchasing decisions and procedures. In addition, this role interacts with Maintenance, Security & Safety, Financial Aid, and Administrative personnel, and uses computers for chemical inventories, waste disposal, directions for laboratory assistants, lists for laboratory experiments, etc. This position is expected to manage the labs at all three campus locations; however, main duties are at the Newtown Campus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Chemical preparation and delivery
Provide supervision, training, and guidance to laboratory assistants.
Ensure proper handling and disposal of chemical waste.
Oversee the purchasing of chemicals, equipment, and glassware.
Inventory management
Security & Safety
Respond to faculty requests and make necessary laboratory adjustments
Facilities management
Secondary Duties
Planning and Development of new exercises

Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Chemistry with a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience.
Strong chemical knowledge
Knowledge of laboratory safety regulations and chemical waste disposal procedures
Excellent communication skills
Strong organizational and planning skills
Salary Range $55,660 - $71,153 (commensurate with experience)
