Summary:

Responsible for tracking financial performance of revenue, operational expense, forecasting, and variance analysis for Sunoco LP. Assists and supports short and long-term margin and expense planning activities for Sunoco LP’s Terminals segment. This position reports to the Manager of FP&A.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Assist in the preparation of the monthly financial review reporting deck for Executive Management

- Support the company-wide annual budget planning and subsequent monthly forecasting process for all expenses and revenue

- Coordinate with field analysts, operations management, and project managers to accurately budget and forecast revenue and operational expenses

- Conduct operating expense and margin variance analysis including budget/forecast vs. actual, quarter vs. quarter, current year vs. prior year

- Regularly present results, forecasts, and budgets to commercial, operations, and executive leadership

- Provide expense analysis support to operations and commercial departments

- Work closely with Accounting, HR, Insurance, Tax, and other departments to ensure accuracy of financial transactions

- Participate in team objectives of maximizing efficiencies with reporting, automation, and optimization

- Contribute to overall Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis team goals as needed

- Assist with ad hoc requests and tasks requiring support for analysis as needed.



- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

- The Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 2-5 years of relevant job related experience

- The Senior Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 5-8 years of relevant job related experience 

- Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

- Must be highly proficient with MS Excel

- High level of communication skills, both verbal and written

- Highly organized with the ability to perform multiple tasks

- Strong attention to detail with the ability to proof work for accuracy

- Self-starter with ability to learn quickly
