This is a full-time, on-site position requiring five (5) days per week in our Newtown Square (Delaware County) office.

Job Description and Responsibilities:

GMH Associates’ is looking for a Property Accountant to join our team at the corporate office in Newtown Square, PA! The primary function of the Property Accountant is responsible for various accounting tasks for GMH Communities, our real estate division, including business analytics and financial forecasting. This position will report to the Accounting Manager.

  • Responsible for accounting, bookkeeping and maintenance of the property management operations
  • Prepare bank reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly journal entries including accruals
  • Responsible for the completion of journal entries, variance analysis reports, and ensures related compliance tasks are assigned
  • Assist in the preparation of budget metrics as well as monthly analysis of budget to actual performance
  • Maintenance of all records in the property management system relating to updates for changes in tenants, owners, properties, and other related vendor information
  • Work with property management as directed by Management to accurately record and bill all tenant charges, on a timely basis
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor towards colleagues and management
  • Maintain confidentiality of corporate/shareholder financial data

Qualifications and Characteristics:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Two Years Accounting Experience—Required
  • Experience with MRI, Yardi, Entrata, and/or Quickbooks—Preferred
  • Experience in Real Estate/Property Management Accounting—Required
  • High degree of oral and written communication skills—Required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word
  • Advanced Excel skills required
