Newtown Savings Bank is seeking a Disclosure Desk Analyst II to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the timely preparation and delivery of mortgage disclosures, as well as reviewing loan files to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements. This position supports the mortgage lending process by helping ensure disclosures are completed accurately and in accordance with established guidelines.


This is an onsite opportunity at our corporate office in Newtown, CT. The role has a remote option of one day per week.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and issue initial disclosures within required regulatory timeframes, utilizing a comprehensive understanding of loan products related documentation. Review and validate loan fees for accuracy to ensure compliance with TRID, RESPA and ECOA requirements. Prepare and deliver redisclosures within regulatory deadlines and verify valid changes in circumstance.
  • Maintain established quality, productivity, and turnaround time standards while adhering to all internal service level expectations and departmental objectives.
  • Monitor pipeline volume and disclosure turn times with a focus on accuracy, transparency, and customer service. Proactively track and manage all disclosure related deadlines.
  • Apply critical thinking and problem solving skills to promptly identify, escalate, and resolve any potential compliance concerns in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of TRID regulations to efficiently and accurately respond to inquiries.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with team members in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and issue redisclosures for all loan files, as required while ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and established timelines.
  • Maintain accurate disclosure tracking within Encompass and ensure all required documents are property uploaded.
  • Follow up with Mortgage Loan Officers and Borrowers to obtain the Intent to Proceed. Issue Notice of Incomplete Application to borrowers as needed.
  • Assign loan files to designated Processors and provide backup support for the Pre-Processor function as needed.
  • Provide support to the Processing Department as needed to promote efficient workflow management and achievement of departmental goals.
  • Monitor loan pipeline views and workflow queues to ensure loans progress through the Loan Origination System efficiently while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • 4 years of relevant mortgage loan experience preferred in lieu of formal education.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Must possess a positive attitude and be eager to learn regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience with processing and disclosing in Encompass is preferred.
  • Strong math skills required.
  • An understanding of mortgage lending and banking principles required.
  • Requires strong organizational and time management skills along with detail analysis and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent skill set in written and verbal communication, and the ability to troubleshoot using independent judgement to solve problems.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all related departments.
  • Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word and Excel required.
  • Encompass experience is a plus.
