Job Description

What you will be doing:

  • Oversee total construction effort to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule. Includes interfacing with owner representatives, subcontractors, security, and lower management.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise all activities of all company personnel assigned to project(s).
  • Plan work schedule, determining manpower levels, material quantities, equipment requirements, etc.
  • Maintain official project log(s) and documentation files through use of company software.
  • Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of onsite Superintendent to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget, investigate potentially serious situations, and implement corrective measures.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise onsite functions (scheduling, engineering, material control, and day-to-day direction of onsite administrative staff if applicable).
  • Provide technical assistance, interpretation of drawings, and recommend construction methods and equipment as required.
  • Ensure all onsite personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules, etc. Document all violations, notify project management, recommend/implement corrective actions as required.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts to protect the company's interest and simultaneously maintain a good relationship with the owner.
  • Represent company in project meetings.
  • Perform additional assignments per Supervisor's direction.

Experience you will need:

  • Organized and systematic in the work.
  • Thorough and deep knowledge about construction activities and all the functions.
  • Must have experience managing multifamily residential housing projects, preferably in Connecticut or similar markets, with project values ranging from $50 million to over $150 million.
  • Excellent communicator and should have both verbal and written skills.
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain good relationships with the crew.
  • Possess qualities of a good leader.
  • Understanding of construction designs and plans.
