Pay Rate/Hourly Rate/shift differential $37.48
Shift/Working Hours 530 - 530 - work 2 weeks on days then switch to nights. They work 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on and 3 off.
What you'll do
The Chemical Operator is responsible for maintaining operating control of assigned production unit including committing company resources appropriately.
Key responsibilities
- Completing assignments in a safe and orderly manner
- Completing all assignments with minimal amount of supervision or instructions.
- Handling and use of products and materials and operation of process equipment to manufacture the company’s products to specification.
- Receiving, storage and loading of product and materials, housekeeping and various miscellaneous types of work necessary to support operations of the plant.
- Loading finished products
- Monitoring unit operations an perform standard tests to verify product compliance with specifications
- Setting up, testing or performing general service or repair to process equipment in support of plant operations.
- Analyzing problems and trouble shoot to effect resolution
- Maintaining a working knowledge of materials and processes in the workplace.
- Communicating as needed with other operators and the unit manger
- Using materials and equipment to avoid damage, lost production and waste.
- Ability to lift 50lbs on a regular basis.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and skills
There are a few requirements you will need to be safe and successful in this job.
*** Must have Chemical Operator experience
- Education High School diploma or equivalent
- Required Knowledge Basic English and Math skills
- Experience Needed Prior chemical plant experience preferred
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Ability to climb mezzanine stairs to access process equipment and computer interface points, lift loads up to 50#, work in confined spaces.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs and frequently required to reach with hands and arms and occasionally to stoop, kneel, or crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. The position frequently requires the ability to hear and to communicate verbally.
Compensation Data
The pay rate for this position is $37.48 per hour.
