Lead Transportation Assistant - Full Time - Days

JOB TITLE: Lead Transportation Assistant 

CLASSIFICATION: Full Time

PROGRAM/DEPARTMENT:  Transportation

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:  Supervisor of Fleet and Transportation

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible to safely transport people we serve (PWS) to various programs they are attending in a safe and timely manner.   Completion of all vehicle logs as required by procedure.  Communicate with passengers and family members in a professional courteous manner.  Gas vehicles as necessary.  Complete all required paperwork.  Communicate vehicle concerns in order to quickly and safely get resolved.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education, Training & Experience:
Valid NYS driver’s license that meets agency standards

Three (3) years driving experience

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Transport individuals to appropriate programs in a safe and timely manner.
Completes vehicle safety checks and corresponding paperwork.
Completes various vehicle logs as required, ensure up to date and completed on a daily basis.
Gas vehicles as needed using procedure.
Ensure safety of the PWS while transporting to or from programs.
Communicate vehicle safety and other needs for quick and safe resolution.
Professionally represent oneself and the Agency by interacting with individuals and parents/contacts in a professional and courteous manner.
Cooperates with Agency safety procedures as identified in the Agency safety handbook & driving policy.

Establishes safe work practices in day-to-day functions of job.
Responsible to comply with the Agency’s Corporate Compliance plan and code of ethics.
Responsible to report any suspected violations of the code of ethics to immediate supervisor, program administrator or Agency Compliance officer.
Daily fleet schedule and vehicle checkout.

Accommodate our Professionals receiving a vehicle to fulfill their responsibilities.
Fill in for the Director of Fleet and Transportation when required regarding the fleet and bus schedule.
Performs other duties as assigned by administrator.
Must comply with agency time and attendance policies along with call- in protocol.

SALARY:

$20.47 per hour without a CDL

$24.67 per hour with a CDL
