JOB TITLE: Registered Nurse (RN) Coordinator

CLASSIFICATION: Full Time, Non-Exempt

PROGRAM/DEPARTMENT:   Central Nursing

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:  Nurse Support Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Nurse Coordinator serves as a key resource for nursing staff, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to ensure quality patient care and adherence to clinical standards. This role partners closely with the Nursing Director to promote best practices, foster professional growth among nurses, and maintain regulatory compliance. The Nurse Coordinator will act in the Director’s capacity during absences, but does not have day-to-day supervisory responsibility over nursing staff schedules or assignments.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education, Training & Experience:
Valid New York State Registered Nurse license.

At least one year of nursing experience.

Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and reliable transportation.

 

Preferred Education, Training & Experience:
One (1) year experience working with people with developmental disabilities

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

High level of empathy and sensitivity to the physical and psychological needs of the people we serve.

Effective communication skills orally, in writing, in person, and by telephone.

Ability and willingness to provide effective instruction and demonstration to staff.

Knowledge of OPWDD, OMH, DOH, and other regulations governing medical care delivery.

Ability and willingness to drive to multiple sites to perform skilled nursing duties.

Ability to obtain and maintain CPI/SCIP certification

 

SALARY:

$40.44-46.68 per hour starting rate based on years licensed

$10,00 sign on bonus paid out over 2 years
