Family Practice Associates was founded by Dr. Jeffrey Foxx in 1983 and has grown to one of the largest family practice groups in Central Kentucky. Today FPA is a group of primary care providers who are dedicated to giving family-centered care from birth to later years. FPA has over 20 primary providers including: physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and a marriage and family therapist. With a professionally trained staff of CMA’s, receptionists, lab techs and others, FPA provides award winning care that has been recognized as a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) through the National Commission on Quality Assurance.  FPA works diligently to offer Central Kentucky families enhanced access to medical care at its Hamburg & Brannon Crossing locations as well as online at www.fpalex.com.

Responsibilities
The Front Office Receptionist is responsible for performing all tasks necessary to start and conclude each patient visit and provide excellent customer service. Â Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Greet patients in a courteous and professional manner.
- Update and verify patient information as needed.
- Register new patients.
- Scan patient identification, insurance cards and other paperwork. Â
- Index scanned documents to patient chart.
- Continuously monitor Phreesia dashboard.
- Print encounter forms as needed.
- Perform insurance eligibility/benefits and explain to patient as needed.
- Collect copays, deductibles, and previous balances. Â
- Reconcile payments posted in Phreesia at the end of the business day.
- Schedule appointments in Allscripts PM as instructed by the provider and/or requested by the patient.
- Verify and ensure accuracy of prescription output in Allscripts EHR. Print and/or call in prescriptions. Â Obtain signature from provider for controlled prescriptions.
- Provide patients with printed materials including but not limited to prescriptions, patient education, release of information forms, school/work excuses and clinical summaries.
- Assist patients with questions/concerns and appointments as needed.
- Relinquish materials (i.e., medical records, drug samples, written prescriptions, etc) to patients as directed by other departments. Â
- Schedule and track drug representative appointment schedule. Â Assist drug representatives and scheduling of breakfast/luncheons. Â Notify staff of breakfast and lunch schedule.
- Keep front office adequately stocked with patient forms.
- Keep desks and lobby clean and professional at all times. Clean and straighten work areas and lobby each night at close of business.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned and as required in our effort to meet the service standard established for check-in and check-out reception.

Specific Requirements
Â
- Must be willing to travel between both locations (Hamburg and Brannon Crossing)
- Graduate of a medical office related training program or a minimum of high school graduate, preferably with medical office experience.
- The ability to sit down and stand up frequently, stretch over counters and lift loads of less than 10 pounds.
- Fine motor skills necessary to operate computers for long periods of time.
- Problem solving skills necessary to assist patients with all aspects if origination of care/encounter
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to function as a team player.
- Effective interpersonal skills required.
