The Sheeter Backman is responsible for producing neat and accurate sheets to be used on the Lithographic Press. The sheeter will ensure proper size and quality of sheets produced. A person in this role with exceptional performance will have the opportunity over time to learn new duties and move to working on the press. An ideal candidate is someone with a solid work ethic, good attendance, close attention to detail, and a desire to grow their career with us!

Responsibilities: 

  • Determine and prioritize which jobs to run based on production schedule needs. 
  • Support the Sheeter Operator, move loads of sheets
  • Prep the area, for next run
  • Verify feed sizes, sheet size, and material code all match specification sheet.
  • Mount and web rolls of paper, adjust web guide and roll stand width to position rolls correctly.
  • Communicate in system any special attention items with products being passed down the line. 
  • Check quality of sheets to ensure they are wrinkle free, correct size, and integrity of material is intact
  • Responsible for housekeeping and cleanliness of work area/production zone.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Any experience in printing or manufacturing is a plus, but not required.
  • The physical demands require standing, using hands to feel and touch; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear.  
  • This position requires frequent walking.  
  • Occasionally employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision requirements are close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. 
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned
