Job Description:
JOB DUTIES:
• Grounds keeping, cultural and natural resource management, trail maintenance, maintaining boat/river access sites, cabin and facility maintenance, and oversight of assigned visitor activities.
• Hire, train, and supervise seasonal workforce for assigned areas of responsibility.
• Collect data, maintain records and prepare appropriate reports, collect fees, and oversee accounts payable and receivable functions.
• Lead and communicate with the community and general public in the efforts of park development and promotion.
• Assist with education programming and special events, oversight of group conference facilities, operation and maintenance of overnight cabins and campgrounds, partner development, and park promotion.
• Other duties as required.

Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in park/recreation management or a related field; (wildlife, fisheries, natural resources sciences, public administration, history, cultural resource preservation or interpretation, travel and tourism, and planning) AND two years related experience including one year in a supervisory or lead worker capacity. Related coursework/training and/or experience in park/recreation management or related field may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.
Other: Valid driver's license.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge and interest in park management, principles and techniques of supervision, Nebraska wildlife, natural resources, and outdoor recreation.
- The operation, maintenance, and repair of park building, facilities, and equipment.
- Learn and apply agency rules and regulations.
- Clearly present and communicate information to varied audiences.
- Work and make decisions independently and as a team.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, administrative personnel, and the public.
