Position Overview

The Front Desk Supervisor plays a key role in creating an exceptional guest experience by supporting the daily operations of the Front Desk and providing leadership to the Front Desk team. This position assists in ensuring employees are equipped, supported, and accountable for delivering professional, welcoming, and efficient service throughout each guest interaction.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure guests are greeted and checked in and out professionally, efficiently, and in accordance with or above established service standards.
  • Provide leadership and day-to-day support to Front Desk Attendants.
  • Maintain a visible Front Desk presence during peak guest traffic periods.
  • Address and resolve guest concerns and complaints while providing appropriate service recovery.
  • Create and maintain schedules for Front Desk Attendants based on business and staffing needs.
  • Review and complete TimeClock Plus approvals.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, performance evaluations, and corrective action for Front Desk Attendants as appropriate.
  • Hold team members accountable to established expectations, policies, and service standards.
  • Communicate employee concerns, performance issues, and operational needs to the Front Office Manager.
  • Utilize V1 and other system software to assign rooms based on availability and guest needs.
  • Partner closely with Reservations and other departments to ensure guest requests and needs are communicated and addressed.
  • Assist the Front Office Manager with daily operations and departmental initiatives.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to remain professional and composed in challenging or stressful situations.
  • Ability to stand and walk for approximately 5–6 hours at a time and regularly climb stairs, reach, and bend.
  • Ability to occasionally lift more than 50 pounds.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of two years of hospitality experience.
  • Previous operational leadership or supervisory experience in hospitality preferred.
  • Experience with V1, Opera, or similar hospitality operating software preferred.
  • Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new software applications and systems.
