Summary Description
Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports and special financial reports.
Essential Functions
- Heavily involved in preparation and first-level review of internal and external (SEC/Regulatory/Compliance) financial reporting
- Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
- Performs statistical analyses to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes and report results
- Involved in the preparation and first-level review of various daily and monthly account reconciliations (general ledger, internal deposit accounts, etc.)
- Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, FDICIA and internally developed guidelines
- Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 5+ years working in an Accounting or Finance role (financial institution experience preferred)
- Various monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting deadlines require availability to work beyond 40 hours per week (including weekend) when necessary
- Work is generally performed indoors in environmentally controlled conditions
- Typically, the employee may sit to perform the work. However, there may be some standing, walking, bending and carrying of light items in the course of the work

- Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills
- Computer proficiency: Microsoft Office products (Excel skills must be strong)
- Strong attention to detail and proactively manages multiple projects ensure internally/externally designated task timelines are met
