Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Low Voltage Superintendent to oversee and manage all field operations for our complex low voltage projects. The Superintendent is responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. This role requires exceptional leadership, technical expertise, and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership: Manage and direct all on-site field personnel, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring adherence to project schedules, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce and maintain a strict culture of safety on the job site, ensuring compliance with all company and OSHA safety regulations. Conduct daily safety briefings and site inspections.
  • Scheduling & Logistics: Develop and maintain detailed short-term project schedules. Coordinate material, equipment, and manpower logistics effectively to prevent delays.
  • Technical Oversight: Provide expert technical guidance and troubleshoot issues related to the installation of various low voltage systems (e.g., Category cable, fiber optics, access control, CCTV, fire alarm, Wi-Fi).
  • Quality Control: Perform regular quality checks on installations to ensure workmanship meets project requirements, industry codes, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate daily reports, progress logs, and field documentation. Manage the RFI and submittal process with the Project Manager.


Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Low Voltage Foreman or Superintendent, directly supervising commercial or industrial installation projects.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of BICSI standards and industry best practices for structured cabling (Cat 6/6A, fiber optic), fire alarm, security, and AV systems.
  • Certifications:
    • OSHA 10 or higher certification is required.
    • State-specific low voltage license is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Proven leadership and team management abilities.
    • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proficient in using construction management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project).

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work on a construction site, which includes standing for long periods, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
