Licensed Practical Nurse
Purpose of Position:
Working in a team, under the oversight of an RN, provide a variety of patient care duties including, but not limited to, passing medicine, vital sign assessment, observation, patient/family teaching, and record keeping that is focused on the comfort and health of the patients in the outpatient clinic or long term care units.

Essential Functions:
- Assist with data collection for patients, including medical history, according to established guidelines and report any significant change in patient conditionÂ
Â
- Perform patient screening for vital signs, specimens, preventive health measures, immunizations and patient safetyÂ
Â
- Implement physician orders according to establish policy and procedures and pharmacy guidelines
Â
- Administer prescribed medications adhering to LPN scope of practice as outlined in State of Alaska Board of Nursing
Â
- Perform nursing procedures to include but not limited to, wound treatment, EKGs, foley insertions, and patient education
Â
- Assist medical staff, team leaders and co-workers to provide an interdisciplinary approach to patient care Â
Â
- Perform other duties as assigned
