Purpose of Position:

The procurement officer will be responsible for sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services. Exceptional negotiation skills, thorough understanding of procurement processes, and the ability to build strong relationships with vendors.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Source suppliers and obtain competitive quotes for goods and services.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve the best value for the company.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and conduct regular supplier reviews.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to determine procurement needs and specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels.
  • Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify potential suppliers and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulations and laws.
  • Resolve any issues or disputes with suppliers regarding quality, delivery, or pricing.
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize procurement processes and improve efficiency.
  • Stay current on developments in procurement best practices and technology tools.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

∙Work is conducted in an office environmental and a standard clinical environment to include exposure to latex, biohazard or other harmful substances

∙Travel is required (25% of the time)

∙Travel is required via large aircraft

∙Travel is required via small (less than 16 passenger) aircraft 

∙Travel is required using snowmobiles, all terrain vehicles, or boat
