Production Technician

Job Overview: 

Under direction of facility management, the Production Technician will be responsible for a variety of complex operations and duties in the production facility. The Production Technician will be responsible for operating a steam-methane reforming (SMR) facility while meeting all safety, environmental, corporate, efficiency and production requirements.

Responsibilities: 

• Obtain knowledge required to operate and troubleshoot the various types of equipment associated with Steam Methane Reformers.
  • Top fired heater
  • Reactors
  • High pressure steam system
  • Pressure swing adsorption unit.
  • Pumps and compressors
  • Analytical equipment
  • Drums and knockout pots
  • Cooling water system
  • Instrument air system.
  • Flare operations.
  • H2 Product delivery
• Monitor the Process. This includes making rounds, completing reading sheets, water sampling and ensuring environmental permit limit and process limits are adhered to.
• Learn how to identify hazards, safe out equipment, and write safe work permits.
• Learn the importance of Housekeeping.
• Work shift work and cover overtime when needed.

Qualifications: 

• Effectively communicate with fellow operators, technicians, engineers, and managers.
• Adhere to all Corporate and Plant policies.
• Maintain the highest degree of personal safety, and environmental accountability at all-times.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping.
• Participate in daily and monthly safety and production meetings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Willingness to progress into a process operator position.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Ability to work from heights.
