JOB PURPOSE: Ensuring that all HVAC equipment is operational and functional in support of manufacturing and office space throughout the facilities. Perform necessary associated mechanical, electrical, and related duties.

 

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: Two years of an accredited Trades School with certification of completion of all course work or equivalent knowledge and skill acquired by means of practical experience.

 

 

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Two years of work experience (in their Trade)

 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: (Preferred qualifications) Completion of an accredited trades training course or equivalent knowledge and skill acquired by means of practical experience. Employees are expected to serve as role models for safe work practices and behaviors. This includes following established health and safety policies and procedures, maintaining a clean, organized work area, wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and properly storing all (PPE), and actively engaging as a safety conscious worker with personal safety and wellness as a priority. EPA 608 Certification

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Independently plan work assignments and perform duties with a minimum of direct supervision. Train and direct efforts of plant trades Helpers, Junior Trades Workers and Trades Workers assigned to assist in the performance of the work. Collaborate with functional personnel in own and other organizations to resolve problems and recommend solutions based on trades knowledge. Qualified to the Emergency Response Technician Level as specified in federal regulations meeting state and federal guidelines 29 CFR 1910.120 Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER). Training and certification to the Level in the Emergency Medical Service as defined by the State of Georgia upon hire.

 

Maintain, repair, overhaul, modify and perform operational test on all types of manufacturing equipment, plant facilities and vacuum systems, providing for the cooling, evacuating, filtering, heating, humidifying and pressurizing of atmospheric air and other gases or liquids. Includes diagnosing both mechanical and/or electrical difficulties, the testing, maintenance, adjustment and replacement of gage, recorder, regulator and similar control units.

 

 Maintain, modify and/or repair electronic controls, microprocessors or similar electronic instruments, meters, terminal connections, time delay relays, safety interlocks, circuit breakers, and pressure switches. Replace defective breaker controls, thermostats, switches, fuses, and electrical wiring to repair units. Proactively monitor HVAC equipment using the building automations system and address any issues identified on each piece of equipment using available data.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: Machine control interface (touchscreens), Problem-solving, Ability to troubleshoot machine problems. Experience with commercial chilled water air handlers and sheet metal fabrication preferred.  Reading, Writing English language. Able to understand and read schematics Time management Strong Computer skills (for looking up machine parts, machine schematic,) MS Office. Pass required physical as specified in federal and state regulations.
