Forklift Operator
Shift: 3rd
Position Summary
You will be responsible for the safe, efficient operation of power industrial trucks to move stock, feed production lines, and manage finished goods. We are looking for a safety-conscious professional who takes pride in maintaining an organized warehouse and meeting production goals.
Core Responsibilities
- Safety & Maintenance: Perform and document pre-shift safety inspections. Identify maintenance needs and submit work orders promptly to ensure equipment longevity.
- Production Support: Deliver raw materials to machines safely and "just-in-time" to prevent downtime. Remove and stage finished goods efficiently.
- Inventory Management: Maintain 100% accuracy in stock locations using both manual paperwork and computer systems. Ensure stacks are neat, orderly, and stable.
- Operational Excellence: Maximize equipment utilization by operating at target capacity while adhering to the daily production schedule.
- Collaboration: Provide backup support for the Shipping Lead and assist fellow operators to ensure the entire shift meets its targets.
- Reporting: Accurately track and report data regarding production, machine status, safety incidents, and quality metrics.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Certification: Must possess or be able to maintain a valid Lift Truck Operator License.
- Technical Skills: * Ability to read a tape measure with speed and precision.
- Strong foundational math skills (calculating volume, rates, and measurements).
- Familiarity with production layouts and quality specifications.
- Preferred Experience: * Prior experience in the corrugated industry.
- Proven track record in warehouse or forklift operations.
Physical Demands & Environment
- Physicality: Regularly required to stand, walk, and reach. Must be able to stoop, kneel, or crouch as needed.
- Vision: Excellent depth perception and peripheral vision are required for safe navigation.
- Environment: This is a high-energy industrial setting. You will be working around moving mechanical parts in a loud environment that may include dust, vibration, and varying temperatures/humidity.
