The Service Technician Apprenticeship is a full-time, paid field position focused on commercial and industrial HVAC systems. Our apprenticeship program is Department of Labor certified and provides apprentices with in-class training at little to no cost. The program is designed as a five-year apprenticeship, with wages based on a progressive pay scale. Credit toward the program may be given for prior HVAC mechanical experience or relevant schooling.


As an HVAC Service Technician Apprentice, you will assist in providing HVAC service to commercial and industrial customers. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing HVAC systems while developing technical skills in the field. Success in this role also requires establishing and maintaining strong communication with customers, project managers, and account managers.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • A passing pre-employment drug screening and participation in a drug-free workplace
  • Has a current driver’s license and an impeccable driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Local Union 72 membership or willingness and ability to join Local Union 72
  • Working proficiency with computers (i.e., smartphone, iPad, laptop)
  • Ability and willingness to complete all required electronic paperwork accurately and on time

 

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree or Technical school Certificate or Degree
  • EPA 608 Universal
  • OSHA 30 Certification

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position, working an 8-hour day, five days a week, plus on-call duties. Work will typically be Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, but can change daily based on customer needs. Standby duties are required for this position. Overtime and irregular hours are frequent. Daily travel to greater Atlanta, GA area service locations is required. This position is highly physical and requires employees to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds, work indoors and outdoors, and in cramped or tight spaces.

Scale or higher, depending on experience
