We鈥檙e looking for a Payroll Manager who knows payroll inside and out and can own the function from start to finish. This is an in-house role鈥攏o outsourcing鈥攕o we need someone who鈥檚 confident, experienced, and ready to take full responsibility for delivering accurate, timely payroll every week.


What You鈥檒l Do:

路 Run weekly payroll for both field and office staff, including union and non-union employees.

路 Maintain payroll records, time sheets, and job costing data.

路 Accurately calculate wages, deductions, benefits, and taxes.

路 Handle union reporting and ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements.

路 Submit union remittances and stay current on union rules and rates.

路 Prepare and file payroll tax returns (federal, state, and local).

路 Ensure compliance with prevailing wage laws, certified payroll reporting, and labor regulations.

路 Maintain and optimize payroll systems (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, or similar).

路 Collaborate with IT and HR to streamline payroll workflows and reporting.

路 Generate payroll reports for finance and project teams.

路 Support internal and external audits related to payroll and labor compliance.

路 Partner with HR on onboarding, terminations, and employee changes.

路 Work closely with project managers to ensure accurate job costing and labor allocation.


What you鈥檒l need (minimum qualifications):

路 Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll in the construction industry.

路 Strong understanding of union payroll, certified payroll, and prevailing wage requirements.

路 Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel.

路 Knowledge of federal and state labor laws and tax regulations.

路 Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

路 Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.


Good to have:

路 Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

路 Experience with mechanical contracting or specialty trades.

路 Familiarity with construction accounting systems

路 CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification is a plus.
