Key Responsibilities
Service Writing
- Coordinates service work based on technician availability and job priority.
- Work with the operations managers to schedule field service technicians for repair/service work.
- Maintains accurate, up-to-date service records in the dealership management system (DMS).
- Provides regular updates to management regarding repair status, delays, and estimated completion times.
- Performs or assists with inspections on machines, which may involve working in the shop or in a quarry. This will help you to learn about our equipment and help you as a service writer.
Warranty Management
- Prepare, submit, and manage all warranty claims to ensure timely payment.
- Maintain a complete history file of all serviced equipment and organize vendor paperwork for warranty parts.Â
Inventory
- Works with the parts department to ensure necessary parts are ordered and available for scheduled repairs.Â
- Assists with inventory tracking and counting

- Pull parts for work orders as needed and ensure unused parts are returned to inventory.
- Operate a forklift when needed.
- Perform other duties as assignedÂ
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience service writing and inventory in heavy equipment, diesel, or agricultural equipment service writing or a similar technical role.
- Technical understanding of heavy equipment is highly preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and, ideally, experience with specific dealer management software. We use Flyntlok.
- A high school diploma is required; a 2-year degree is often preferred.
- Ability to move around the shop/yard, occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs., and working in non-climate-controlled environments.Â
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
