Job Description

Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the installation, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems across multiple projects and service locations. This role provides leadership to field personnel, ensures compliance with applicable codes and safety standards, manages project schedules and budgets, and serves as the primary field liaison between customers, contractors, project managers, and company leadership.

Responsibilities: 

  • Plan and coordinate the installation of new systems, including designing system layouts, selecting appropriate equipment, and estimating costs.
  • Schedule and oversee the work of technicians and other staff involved in installation, repair, or maintenance projects.
  • Monitor project progress and identify opportunities to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Communicate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to coordinate work activities, provide updates on project progress, and address any concerns or issues that may arise.
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks to ensure all sprinkler systems are functioning properly and perform any necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Monitor and manage budgets for sprinkler system projects to ensure that costs are kept within budget and projects are completed on time.
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to field employees
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and implement corrective actions
  • Review daily reports, timecards, and project documentation
  • Enforce safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment at all times.
  • Support a culture of safety by promoting safe work practices and addressing safety concerns professionally.

 
Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the fire sprinkler industry
  • Strong knowledge of fire protection systems and applicable codes
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications


Licenses and Certifications:

  • NICET (Level II, III, or IV) certification preferred 
  • Hold the appropriate local/state license by jurisdiction.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record 


Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk active construction sites and service locations.
  • Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and access confined spaces as needed.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and construction environments.
  • Ability to drive to multiple job sites within assigned territory
