Van Driver

Essential Functions/Position Responsibilities:

• DOT pre-trip and post-trip inspections are required.
• Communication with Route Supervisor.
• Monitor all gauges, dials, other indicators to ensure they are working properly, if something is not working, report it to the route supervisor immediately.
• Fulfill all assigned route pickups daily
• Operate hydraulic controls.
• Tarp loads when required.
• Operate tipper at landfill.
• Drop and hook trailers daily as needed.
• Backing and navigating truck in tight spaces.
• Ensure loads adhere to DOT load securement requirements.
• Clean interior of truck as needed.
• Notify Route Supervisor of any incidents, accidents, injuries or property damage immediately.
• Operating truck in all weather conditions and work environments.
• Notify Route Supervisor or dispatch of service interruptions, including blocked containers, closed lots, streets, alleyways or any potential safety hazards.
• Knowledge of proper DOT loading, transportation and shipping procedures for commodities.
• Must maintain a verified and unexpired Commercial driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Follow all company policies per Employee Handbook & Code of Conduct.
• Follow all company safety guidelines.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
